Trainee Animal Attendant at Kylie’s K9 Country Retreat
Do you love dogs and dream of working with them every day? Kylie’s K9 Country Retreat is looking for a Trainee Animal Attendant to join our dedicated team! This is the perfect opportunity for a school leaver or someone new to the industry who is eager to gain hands-on experience in animal care while studying.
This is a casual position with hours varying between 7am and 6pm . Penalty rates apply for weekends and public holidays.
About the Role:
You’ll receive on-the-job training to help you develop the skills needed to care for dogs in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feeding, providing water, and monitoring the wellbeing of dogs in our care
- Learning how to conduct basic health checks and assist with general animal husbandry
- Supervising small groups of dogs and ensuring their safety during playtime
- Cleaning and maintaining the facility to a high standard
- Assisting with customer service, including check-ins and check-outs
- Helping create fun photo and video content for pet owners
- Assisting with bathing, drying, and basic grooming of dogs
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong passion for animals , especially dogs (experience with pets at home is a bonus!)
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn —no formal experience required
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- A reliable and hardworking nature , as the role can be physically demanding
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with set routines and procedures
- Must be enrolled or willing to enrol in a Certificate III in Animal Attending or a similar vocational certificate
Requirements:
- Must be available some weekends and public holidays , including the Christmas period
- Must have a driver’s license and reliable transport
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- A keen interest in pursuing a career in animal care
