About the Opportunity
Consumer and Business Services (CBS) seeks an experienced and strategic leader to join its executive team as the Director, Business Services and Transformation. Reporting directly to the Commissioner, you will drive operational excellence and oversee a diverse portfolio, including finance, human resources, records management, facilities, and security. Additionally, you will lead the Project Management Office, Information Technology, and Residential Bonds teams. This role demands a forward-thinking professional with a strong vision for transformation, governance, and service innovation. You will play an important role in shaping business strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and cultivating a high performing, engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of CBS’s corporate functions, ensuring alignment with business goals and government policies.
- Drive business transformation projects, ensuring risk mitigation, and budget management.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, corporate, and government reporting requirements.
- Offer high-level strategic advice to the Commissioner on emerging challenges and opportunities.
- Establish robust project governance frameworks and performance monitoring mechanisms.
- Design and implement HR strategies, talent management initiatives, and leadership development programs.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Tertiary or post graduate qualification in business, information technology or human resources or finance equivalent is desirable
- Proven executive leadership experience in corporate services, business transformation, and strategic planning.
- Extensive experience in leading technology-driven business transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement high-level policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills within public sector procurement guidelines.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with a talent for influencing change.
About the Business
The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia. Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians. Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
