How will I help?
This role sits within the Regulatory Reporting team under Finance, Group Reporting & Analytics (GR&A) and supports the implementation of transformation and change initiatives, ensures the delivery of accurate and timely regulatory reporting to APRA and other regulatory bodies and develops insights and analysis for key business and senior bank stakeholders. This role will co-ordinate, lead and deliver regulatory reporting submissions utilising both on and offshore teams as well as implement change activity as a result of regulatory impacts and broader change initiatives across Westpac including UNITE. This will be achieved by managing a team of professionals and building stakeholder relationships across teams within Finance, Treasury, Risk, Consumer & Business Division, Institutional lending and external agencies and regulatory bodies..
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Maintaining and improving regulatory reporting for the Westpac Group and maintaining and improving the relationship with external regulatory bodies. Be the main contact point for escalating matters relating to the financial statement returns and surveys to the Leadership Team of Regulatory Reporting. Managing the Regulatory Reporting (both on and offshore), in a manner consistent with the Group, Finance and GR&A strategy and business plan, Group policies and frameworks, relevant delegations, the Group’s and Division’s Risk Appetite statement and applicable laws and regulations. Drive the production of timely and accurate regulatory returns and submissions that meet the requirements as articulated by our Regulators. Develop and report insights for key stakeholders to assist decision making, highlight opportunities compared to peers and drive business performance Ensure procedures and controls are designed and operating effectively and are well embedded and documented. Be proactive on opportunities for issue and incident identification and resolution, control enhancement, process efficiency and the need to meet emerging requirements. Guide and coach other Finance team members to achieve their own development aspirations and meet organisational goals. Create and embed a strong risk and value culture with a focus on continuous improvement

What do I need?
Previous experience as a people leader with exhibited ability to work with and influence a range of internal and external stakeholders. Senior stakeholder management with demonstrable ability to simplify complex concepts for business audiences. Strong ability to engage and influence a broad range of senior and operational stakeholders (Finance, IT, Business, Risk, Regulators) Experience in delivery on tight reporting deadlines and implement / drive change. Strong technical proficiency of Regulatory reporting and Finance principles with a good knowledge of reporting tools.
