We are currently recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager. The position will be based in Perth and will require periodic domestic and international travel. The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of new business and expansion of current services across the portfolio. This role involves identifying opportunities, building strategic partnerships, leading projects and negotiating and converting organic opportunities with new and existing customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Market Analysis and Strategy Development

  • Effectively lead or support strategic studies, investigate marketplaces and industry trends;
  • Implements strategic plans to develop energy projects in target market segments;

Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the existing client service areas, which generally includes both large corporate, government and private accounts;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key growth accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction

Prospecting for New Opportunities

  • Maintains knowledge of day-to-day market developments and accurately assesses the opportunities provided;
  • Identify and research potential clients and and evaluate business opportunities consistent with the growth strategy of the Company;
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to generate leads
  • Prepare and present business proposals to potential clients

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Effectively manage new projects, acquisitions or joint ventures through to from project inception through to contract execution / final investment decision;
  • Project manage the response to Expressions of Interest and Request for Quotations/ Tenders;
  • Co-ordinate inter-disciplinary input from internal teams and third parties to align efforts and drive business growth
  • Share insights and feedback from clients to inform product development and service improvements.

Opportunity Conversion

  • Undertake economic and financial investigations to support investment cases;
  • Prepare and present investment cases that align to investment criteria to Executives
  • Negotiate and conclude organic projects with clients and partners;

Other

  • Responsible for the effective implementation and support of the Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • In addition to the duties set out above, the Senior Business Development Manager may be expected to perform such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Company.

Job Environment

The Senior Business Development Manager will work closely with other Managers to ensure coordination of effort. The job environment will reflect this dynamic period while maintaining high corporate standards.

The position requires a motivated and committed individual who is capable of producing output of a high quality. An ability to work in an environment with constantly changing priorities is integral to the role.

The Senior Business Development Manager is expected to support and comply with relevant Company Policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in either a business, technical or scientific discipline with a strongly developed marketing sense gained through relevant work experience in the energy markets;
  • A depth of experience in the following areas is essential:
    • Market assessment, risk analysis and strategic planning;
    • Regulatory influences and responses in energy markets;
    • Bid construction, tendering and auction procedures, including acquisitions;
    • Complex contract negotiation, administration and management.
    • Requires a working knowledge of the Australian energy and mining sectors;
    • Relationship management skills;
    • Proven Commerical and Business Development track record;
    • Demonstrated experience with the Microsoft suite of packages.
