About the Role:
As a valued Nursing and/or Midwifery sessional Teacher, you will be delivering units as part of the innovative block model, specialising in the Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing program/s. As well as assessing students with supervision from the nursing and midwifery academic team. Teaching the second-year students in both programs occurs at St Albans campus, third and final year teaching is located at the Sunshine Clinical School campus.
Our Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing programs are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of contemporary practice and person-centred care.
An example of your responsibilities or duties you may perform will include:
- Facilitate learning and establish educational and assessment strategies to suit a range of student, client needs and industry contexts. This includes delivery of on-line and blendedworkshop sessions, simulated learning and skills laboratory sessions, including preparation for practice placements;
- Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and undertake assessment of student performance in accordance with the requirements of the relevant curriculum; and,.
- Undertake a range of administrative, coordination and learning services activities directly related to the areas taught including recognition of prior learning, enrolments and submission of results.
You have a Masters degree, or are working towards this in Nursing/Midwifery or a closely related field. Applicants with relevant industry experience are highly encouraged to apply.
- Previous teaching experience at the tertiary level gives you an advantage.
- You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills; committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- You are a dynamic and passionate educator willing to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education in higher education nursing and midwifery programs.
Undergraduate teaching of the following :
Bachelor of Nursing: Acute care nursing; mental health nursing; research for practice, complex acute care nursing; professional studies.
Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing: Midwifery for healthy women and caring for the woman with more complex health needs during childbearing; research for practice; professional studies. .
