About the role
This role will involve taking responsibility for various civil engineering services across a variety of sectors including health, education, commercial, urban, civic, and recreational.
The role will include:
- Providing technical solutions and development of engineering technical design documentation inclusive of drawings, specifications, and reports;
- Providing leadership to the civil engineering team members;
- Undertaking field inspections and assessments on a range of civil works projects;
- Assisting with driving business development through supporting bids, identifying opportunities, and supporting the wider team for successful delivery.
- Development of business in the regions we operate;
- Providing civil engineering support to our NT, QLD, VIC, and WA offices;
- Providing mentoring to our junior team members;
- Being an innovative systems thinker and contributing to development and improvement project delivery quality and processes
This position will form an integral part of our engineering team and the future growth of our national business.
About you
The following attributes are essential for this role:
- 10+ years’ experience in civil design
- Degree qualification, Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering or similar discipline
- Consultancy or local government experience on Land Development, Roads, Drainage or Water projects (within Australia).
- Experience and knowledge of Austroads and VicRoads design guidelines, AS3500, AS2890, AS1428, Stormwater Best Practice (WSUD) and the Infrastructure Design Manual (IDM)
- Strong experience in preparation of design, specifications, reports, calculations, drawings, cost estimation and details/schedules for projects.
- Strong experience with civil design tools such as 12D and/or Civil 3D, AutoTurn and/or Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, Excellent presentation and engineering report writing skills.
- Prior consulting experience, or experience demonstrating an ability to work within challenging consulting environment.
- Demonstrate experience in technical quality assurance with high quality deliverables.
- Strong experience in undertake civil field inspections including dilapidation surveys and feasibility assessments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a broader national team
- Ability to engage and communicate and collaborate closely with external stakeholders, internal engineering teams, and other trades.
- Ability to be mobile and work short term in remote and regional locations
- A drive to contribute ideas and improve engineering services processes and systems
- A common-sense approach to dealing with technical and relationship challenges
- High-level of verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to self-motivate ,motivate others and with strong self-management skills
- Desire to be part of our hard-working team

- MIE(Aust), NER, CPEng or other similar qualification
- RPE(Vic) registration
- Experience with AutoCAD/12D/Civil3D
