The Project Officer role sits within the strategic priorities of Thrive Group Tasmanian Inc. It is funded by Department of Education under the Child Care Community Fund (CCCF) until June 2026 and is designed to optimise early learning and childcare opportunities (places) in FDC and more specifically, support the provision of additional early learning services in the identified catchment areas within regional Tasmanian SA2 priority areas such as Brighton, Pontville, Berriedale, Chigwell, Derwent park, Lutana, Dodges Ferry, Lewisham, Margate, Snug, Risdonvale and West Moonah.
The role will provide high level support and assist with project management, coordination and delivery of early learning initiatives and programs, including engagement activities, community and stakeholder liaison and consultation to support an increase in the provision of FDC services and educational settings to families and children within the identified areas. The role may also at time to time, involve the coordination of other marketing and engagement activities as required by the Directors.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated high-level project management skills, including the ability to identify and synthesise relevant issues and priorities, and provide recommendations and solutions.
- Proven experience in coordinating and facilitating programs, events and activities within a community setting.
- Exceptional ability to engage and communicate effectively with groups of people, tailoring communication to suit specific target groups or age ranges.
- Ability to organise and implement community engagement activities within an allocated budget.
- Relevant experience in the Children’s Services sector (desirable but not essential).
- Responsibility for managing projects to achieve results.
- The capability to travel around Southern Tasmania.
Additional requirements:
- Currently hold or can obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Currently hold or can obtain a current National Police check (within 6 months)
