About the role

This role is part of the ECA Tasmania workforce initiatives project team. The project officer is responsible for supporting the Tasmanian ECEC Scholarship Project and contribute to the upskilling of the education and care workforce through provision of wrap around strategies to support 200 people to undertake and progress qualifications under scholarships including to allocate and support ECEC workers eligible for the relocation and retention payments. Work includes monitoring and reporting progress, database management and liaising with the funding body, stakeholders, employers, RTOs and universities. The role will work closely with the Education and Care Workforce Connection Project, working alongside the Education and Care Workforce Connection Project Officer.

About you

The successful candidate will be seeking a challenging and rewarding role. You'll have interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills, as well as demonstrate the following:

  • A degree or diploma is minimum in a relevant discipline (e.g., project management, administration, or early childhood education and care).

  • Experience managing projects, project planning systems/databases and project monitoring.

  • Experience with scholarships, qualifications training and/or workforce initiatives will be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of the early childhood education and care sector including the Tasmanian early childhood sector.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with different audiences.

  • Commitment to reconciliation, diversity and inclusion.
