Youth Mental Health Hospital in the Home
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young people and their families? Would you like to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing intensive mental health care within a young person’s home? Then come join our new Youth Mental Health Hospital in the Home (Y-HiTH) service!
The CYMHS Y-HiTH is a new service for the North West region based in Devonport.
Our aim is to support young people (16–24-year-old) who maybe experiencing an acute episode of mental illness to receive treatment in their home and within the community, rather than being admitted to an inpatient mental health unit, or as part of a discharge plan from hospital.
The Y-HiTH team will work with the young person and their family/significant others to develop an individual treatment plan that supports their recovery. With multiple home visits occurring everyday and additional support via telephone and telehealth, young people will receive comparable treatment from Y-HiTH as they would from an inpatient admission.
The Role:
As part of a multidisciplinary youth mental health service (16-25 years of age) delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Allied Health Professional will:
Undertake the delivery of quality care with young people and their families/significant others to the Youth Mental Health Hospital in the Home (Y-HiTH), based on best practice principles, person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care, within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.Provide intensive home-based care to young people and their families/significant others, which includes therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatment, brief interventions and psychoeducation using a range of developmentally suitable therapeutic approaches.

Details of appointment: Allied Health Professional, Level 3
Permanent full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association. Current Driver’s Licence Current Working with Children Registration
