About the Role
The Client & Markets team brings our purpose to life in safeguarding the firm’s reputation by developing and implementing robust risk practices, promoting a culture of accountability and compliance with Firm policies, PwC network standards, and regulatory requirements.The role also covers of responsibility for the Corporate Affairs and Corporate Sustainability functions.

In our team, your impact will be seen by:
Risk Management:
- Implementing a comprehensive risk management framework for Clients & Markets (C&M), Corporate Affairs (CA) and Corporate Sustainability (CS) (developed by Line 2)
- Leading the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks.across C&M, CA and Sustainability.including
- Collaborating with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of risk registers, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflect the current risk landscape. Oversee control design and ensure controls are operated in a timely manner. Perform first-line control testing as required
- Conducting regular risk assessment stress testing to evaluate the resilience of functions. Ensure Business Impact Analysis (BIA) & Business Continuity (BC) plans are up to date
Compliance & Governance:
- Reporting compliance with relevant laws and regulations, industry standards, PwC Network standards and PwC Australia policies impacting C&M, CA and CS
- Ensuring effective governance practices are in place, including the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, and internal controls, and monthly risk council
- Monitoring and reporting on risk appetite, exposures, control effectiveness, and risk mitigation progress to senior management and relevant committees in the MLT Risk Committee
- Providing risk oversight for high-value or high-risk projects across the three teams
Leadership & Culture:
- Promoting a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the risk management framework
- Working with relevant Risk & Ethics teams (Line 2) to deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness of operational and data risks
More About You
- You have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Law, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- You have a strong depth of experience in operational risk management within a professional services firm or financial institution and within a leadership role
- Experience in markets/client service, sustainability or communications is ideal
- You have strong knowledge of operations and/or risk management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices. Specific experience in process mapping, process design, control design and/or data quality management would be an added advantage
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- You have demonstrated leadership experience
- You have sound knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in risk management
- You have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
