We are a specialist criminal law firm with offices in Geelong and Ballarat.
Our practise reaches throughout western Victoria and into Melbourne.
We are seeking a junior solicitor to join our busy legal team based in our Geelong office.
You will have a passion for criminal law defence and an understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
Your primary role would be instructing in a large complex County Court trial to be heard in Melbourne. This matter is expected to run for 3 months commencing in August 2025.
You would have the unique opportunity of working with outstanding counsel on a daily basis and be supported and mentored by our very experienced legal and administrative team.
In addition you will have the opportunity to develop your advocacy skills through court appearances in various suburban and regional Magistrates’ courts as required.
You will have exceptional organisational and time management skills, be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate respectfully with clients, court staff, prosecutors and judicial officers alike.
While a preference for post graduate experience in this field is preferred, a graduate able to demonstrate a true enthusiasm for this demanding but rewarding area of law would be considered.
