Description:
The Commissioning Reform team, Investment and Commissioning collaborates government departments, regions and the non-government sector to deliver on key strategic priorities that strengthen commissioning and oversight of services for children and young people subject to statutory child protection intervention.The team is focused on transforming how services are planned, funded, and managed to better meet the care and safety needs of children and young people in out of home care system.
In this role you will support the development and implementation of the Dual Carer initiative for residential care ensuring alignment Safer Children Safer Communities policy. Your role will be responsible for project planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management and governance to ensure successful delivery of the Dual Carer initiative.
You will work closely with key internal partners including Strategic Policy and Legislation, Office of Chief Practitioner and Regional Offices to embed the Dual Carer initiative within a strategic, practice, regulatory and commissioning framework.
Key Aspects Of The Role Include
- Contributing to the development and refinement of investment and procurement specifications, contract resources and supporting policies and procedures.
- Establishing administrative processes, tools and resources to facilitate effective implementation.
- Providing sector guidance and support to promote best practices in dual carer service delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement and applying innovative approaches to address complex challenges in the dual carer initiative.
- Develop, manage and implement projects and programs that support the effective delivery of services relevant to the business unit.
- Provide high level program management advice and direction in relation to human service initiatives.
- Identify information from a wide range of sources and provide strategic analysis and advice on complex operation program, policy and legislative issues relating to the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations to deliver on project outcomes that support the department's capacity to deliver and maintain quality services.
- Provide high level liaison, consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders towards the development and implementation of whole-of-government policy and program initiatives relating to the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
- Ensure that service delivery arrangements support the department's program and strategic intent.
- Prepare a range of written materials including cabinet submissions, procurement documentation, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes and information papers concerned with the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
