4.5 Star Motel Manager Position – Live On-Site
Are you an experienced hospitality professional looking for a rewarding management role in a well-established regional motel? We are seeking a dedicated Motel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our 42-room accommodation property . This live-on-site position includes a spacious two-bedroom manager’s residence with all utilities covered .
About the Role
This role is perfect for an individual with strong business acumen and excellent hospitality experience . You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the motel’s operations, ensuring high guest satisfaction, overseeing staff, and handling administrative duties.
We have a receptionist on-site Monday to Thursday from 11 AM to 6 PM who will assist with check-ins and reception duties. All linen is outsourced , and our property management system is Guestpoint . Office hours are 7 AM to 9 PM .
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Reservations:
- Manage all areas of guest and customer relations, including bookings, check-ins/outs, and guest experience.
- Handle reservations via phone, web, email, walk-ins, and online booking channels, and deal with Chargeback Reservations.
- Manage group bookings and conference bookings.
- Ensure all guest inquiries and concerns are promptly addressed.
Property & Operations Management:
- Oversee the housekeeping staff and monitor work performance.
- Ensure high standards of property and room cleanliness through regular inspections.
- Stocktake and order supplies, including linen as required.
- Oversee the maintenance and sustainment of property upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage property amenities in accordance with company policies.
Staff & Administration:
- Manage, train, and supervise all property staff.
- Prepare staff rosters and oversee timesheets.
- Liaise with payroll regarding pay queries.
- Monitor and control staff hours to manage costs effectively.
- Keep records of complaints, emergencies, maintenance, security incidents, and actions taken.
- Liase with the property owners on matters as required.
- Generate housekeeping reports and assign duties to housekeepers.
Requirements
- Prior motel management experience is required .
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- Experience with property management systems (Guestpoint experience preferred).
- A hands-on approach to management, including assisting with housekeeping duties when needed.
- No pets allowed.
