About the Role
In the role of Principal Platform Architect, you will be responsible for the development of solution architectures and patterns that align with the Department of Transport and Main Roads' (TMR) enterprise architecture, business direction and industry best practice for the integration and microservices platforms. You will also provide strategic and critical advice on Information Management and Information Communication and Technology (ICT) concepts, strategies, policies and architectures on departmental, portfolio and whole-of-government issues.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of integration and microservice solutions using frameworks and patterns within the enterprise, while also developing and implementing enterprise roadmaps and strategies with supporting standards, patterns, and solutions.
• Lead and assist in developing solutions that support various integration topics, including API Integration, Enterprise Service Bus, Events and Queuing, API Gateways, API and Messaging Security, Multi-Cloud Integration and IPaaS, Integration and Microservice Governance, and Enterprise CI/CD strategy and patterns.
• Provide support, guidance, governance, and assurance over solutions developed within the enterprise in relationship to Integration, Microservices and Event Driven Architecture.
• Research and utilise current and emerging trends and best practice with regards to Integration, Microservices and Event Driven Architecture technologies and operating models.
• Lead architecture and subject matter experts through the design activities for proposed solutions. Design activity will include both functional and non functional components, including software configuration, reporting, middleware/system interfaces, and platforms.
• Perform options analysis across complex solutions, then document and present these recommendations to various stakeholders.
