About This Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Principal Project Officer to engage in translational research projects and work closely with our team to support the development and deployment of scientific applications via the https://www.neurodesk.org platform. This position will be responsible for developing and documenting Neurodesk use cases using Jupyter Notebooks. The Principal Project Officer will also be responsible for managing engagement with Neurodesk stakeholders and introducing the new developments to the scientific community on workshops and conferences. At this level it is expected that the incumbent will contribute to service and engagement roles and activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate aspects of the project life-cycle, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities as relevant to the project phase/s.

  • Develop and implement project plans, and collating documents and records of relevant issues.

  • Undertake project-specific research and analysis to support project planning and decision-making.

  • Creating project-related updates, communication materials, post-project reports, training materials, communication plans, and media content.

  • Supervising a range of project-relevant secretariat and administrative services, including committee meetings, project steering groups, and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Coordinating project-related activities, events, and education sessions while building effective relationships with clients and stakeholders, including senior staff, consultants, support staff, government and non-government representatives, industry partners, donors, and project participants.

About You
  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Life Sciences or Engineering, with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training

  • Demonstrated project planning experience, including the ability to prioritise tasks, work to tight deadlines, anticipate future requirements and resolve issues

  • Effective interpersonal skills that enable effective working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders of varying levels of seniority, including Neurodesk users.

  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities within tight timeframes

  • Relevant professional experience in clinical studies, human data collection, data analysis of biomechanical and neuroimaging data with Python and MATLAB.

  • Thorough understanding of quantitative imaging data

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
