How you'll make a difference

The Plumbing Technical Officer provides field-based supervision, technical support, claims review and approval, work inspections and the issue of work to trades staff and contractors and undertakes maintenance duties. Works include but are not limited to: Plumbing, Irrigation, Roofing and Gas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that all Council processes and procedures are adhered to.
  • Prepare and arrange for rectification of defects and non-conforming works.
  • Provide accurate quantity take offs and estimations to customers.
  • Be proactive in developing safe work practices and the fostering of a ‘work safe’ culture.
  • Utilise initiative to analyse, research and resolve building, trade, technical, operational.
  • Process priorities and assign planned & corrective maintenance work requests ensuring they are accurately and correctly translated into work orders.
  • Identify and drive efficiencies within planned maintenance activities.
  • Participate in the after-hours support system, be included in the emergency call-out roster when requested by your line leader.

  • Certificate III in Plumbing or Plumbing Occupational Licence
  • C Class Driver's Licence
  • General Construction Induction Card (White)
  • Irrigation and roofing knowledge and experience
