An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Operations Manager to grow our Managed Services team.

Off the back of exciting ongoing growth with our Managed Services (4PL) division, Truckit.NET is expanding the team with an Operations Manager role to lead our transport and logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and exceptional service delivery.

Position Overview:

This Operations Manager role is extremely unique within the industry as it has the real ability to help shape the trajectory of the business. It is multifaceted and will oversee all aspects of transport and logistics operations, including managing a growing team, optimizing operational processes, help driving technological improvements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. It will play a key role in enhancing our operational performance, driving cost efficiencies, and delivering exceptional service to our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day transport and logistics operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies and procedures to optimize performance and meet business objectives.

New Customer Implementation

  • In conjunction with other divisions of the Truckit business, onboard each new customer thoroughly, which may include designing and implementing Project Management plans.
  • Design and implement Service Level Agreements to ensure alignment between customers’ expectations and all Truckit stakeholders.

Carrier Management:

  • Ensure our carrier network is compliant with all relevant regulations, including transportation laws, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Assist with the procurement and management of new carriers for specific contract requirements.
  • Ensuring Carrier performance is in line to contract terms.

Process Optimisation:

  • Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement Initiatives and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.

Customer Service:

  • Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure service excellence.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on operational performance, key metrics, and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (desirable).
  • Proven experience in operations management within the transport and logistics industry (ideally interstate intermodal transport).
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, including transportation (essential) and warehousing (desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
