She wear is an innovative, growing Brisbane based footwear brand designing, manufacturing and retailing women's safety work boots, work shoes and functional everyday footwear. We launched in 2013 due to the underwhelming work boot options available for women and have now grown our product offerings from 30 SKUs to over 1000 options.

We're on a mission to make every step count, ensuring comfort, support, and happy feet all day, every day.

We've enjoyed fantastic growth in recent years and have really exciting plans in the pipeline!

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Finance and Operations Manager who thrives in a fast paced environment and has a passion for working with financial insights to drive business success. Working closely with our Founder, you will deliver real time financial reporting, accurate forecasting, and in depth analysis to ensure projects and decisions are based on reliable data. You will also lead our small team, driving operational efficiency, business growth and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the business.

This is a newly created, full time role, located on site at our Northgate (Brisbane) HQ.

Key responsibilities

Finance

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company. Oversee cashflow, accounts payable & receivable, and manage payroll. Prepare and lodge BAS and activity statements.
  • Take ownership of cash flow forecasting, ensuring that projections align with the company’s revenue and expense patterns.
  • Deliver month end reporting providing variance analysis and key commentary on performance.
    Analyse cash flow trends, identify potential risks or opportunities, and adjust forecasts as needed to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Collaborate closely with our Founder to monitor and assess working capital, liquidity, and cash flow dynamics.
  • Continuously evaluate the financial performance of the business, anticipating challenges and implementing strategies to optimise cash flow.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and admin teams to optimise inventory turnover, prevent stockouts or overstocking, and support cost efficient purchasing decisions that align with cash flow forecasts and financial goals.
  • Work closely with our external accountant for tax related matters.

Operations

  • Manage day-to-day operations, overseeing workflows to ensure efficiency, productivity, and the smooth execution of business activities.
  • Engage directly with customers, contracted clients and potential stakeholders with the ability to foster strong, long term relationships. You will be responsible for executing contracts, ensuring compliance and delivering excellent service throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Lead and support the team, overseeing KPIs and performance reviews. Drive a positive and engaged company culture.
  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and ensure resources are allocated effectively to meet business goals.
  • Work closely with our Founder to research, develop and execute business strategies for business expansion.

You must ..

  • Have strong financial acumen with experience in managing financial operations.
  • Be operationally minded with the ability to “think outside the square” to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Have the ability to work autonomously – a self starter with strong time management skills, capable of effectively managing both your own tasks and the team’s productivity.
  • Have experience managing teams, setting KPIs, and driving performance.
  • Have a strong mindset on driving company growth through continuous learning, innovation, and improvement.
  • Be proactive & a natural problem solver with the ability to anticipate challenges, take initiative, and find effective solutions quickly.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment and capable of taking and following directions without supervision.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a high level of proficiency in using financial and operational software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications & experience

  • 5+ years in a finance, accounting, or operations role.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • High level Xero, BAS, payroll, accounts and cash flow management experience.
  • Proven experience with financial analysis and reporting, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience with IMS/ERP is an advantage.
  • Background in small business, retail, manufacturing or E-commerce is preferred.
