About this opportunity
Our Infrastructure and Asset Services team is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support the management and supervision of civil construction works. This role will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints, while contributing to the planning, coordination, and delivery of Council’s Capital Works Program. Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the management and supervision of civil construction works under the Council's Annual Capital Works Program.
- Use technical knowledge and project management methodologies to ensure assigned projects achieve scope, time, quality, and cost targets.
- Contribute to the preparation of design activities, pre-construction works, tenders, and estimates through expert advice on construction and maintenance processes.
- Assist in contract preparation and administration for supply/construction contracts.
- Coordinate and support project delivery within budgetary constraints.
- Assist in monthly and quarterly expenditure and progress reporting for the Maintenance, Operations, and Capital Works Program.
- Provide advice and contribute to the review of Council’s policies related to road, drainage, bridge, traffic, and transport infrastructure.
- Assist in developing and maintaining work practices and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Liaise with external stakeholders to facilitate the planning and coordination of projects.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and briefings for Council and Senior Engineers.
About you…
- Hold a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (4-year degree) with experience.
- Have experience in Project Management and/or relevant work within the Civil Construction industry.
- Possess a Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Hold a C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrate multi-disciplinary knowledge of civil works programming, engineering standards, and their application.
