We (Tasmanian Independent Retailers) are seeking a dedicated Information Technology (IT) Support Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis. This exciting role offers the opportunity to provide essential administrative support to our Information and Retail Technology department.
Who are we?
Formed in 1947 Tasmanian Independent Retailers (TIR) is a retailer owned Co-operative trading under the divisions of IGA Tasmania and Island Fresh Produce (IFP). IFP are responsible for the distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables to our retailers and other food service customers. TIR exists to serve members under the advertised retail banners of IGA in areas of supplier trading terms, advertising support, equipment purchases, in store ranging, pricing, promotions and expansion support.
Role duties:
- Provide technical support for store POS systems, hardware, and software issues.
- Respond to and resolve day-to-day IT support requests from corporate, IFP and retail locations.
- Assist in the implementation and support of IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and knowledge bases for efficient troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Support data management, backups, and security protocols across all systems.
The right applicant will need to:
- Proven experience in IT support roles, particularly in retail environments.
- Knowledge of POS systems, networking, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, and basic server administration.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in project support, including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Be highly attentive to detail with an ability to take direction
- Be organised and focused with the ability to multi-task
- Have a friendly professional communication style both verbal and written
- Be available for statwide travel as required
- Hold a current driver's licence
- Have flexibility to work some weekends as required for business needs
