Your Role
Thanks to recent growth across the organisation, new positions are being developed and internal promotions are imminent. Your role as Work, Health & Safety Coordinator will work in a vibrant, high-performance team and expose you to some of the industry’s best in Safety and Compliance. On a daily basis your responsibilities look like this:
- Working very closely with warehousing and office support staff, observing their tasks and communicating effectively with them to ensure they understand and comply with safety expectations
- Testing procedures with the people driving vehicles, loading items in the warehouse and work-site related activities
- Understanding and achieving WHS and HSEQ targets for the national business and ensuring the system, including document management, is relevant, current and interpretable by all staff
- Coordinating incident investigations as required and ensuring that the people know to report near-misses immediately
- Visiting sites regularly across local and regional Australia to ensure that on-site workers are keeping to safety legislation as well as site-specific rules
- Working closely with the Senior Management Team to develop and execute relevant WHS systems incorporating all requirements into a user-friendly platform
- Providing training where required by the organisation including refresher training, inductions and/ or external training courses
- Ensuring that all documentation is managed in line with document management procedures
- Organising and participating in emergency drills and training to ensure that employees understand their responsibilities at the time of an emergency
- Conducting audits and inspections as required
- Support the company's compliance with ISO including the certification process
The position is full-time permanent and hours are approximately 8-4pm with a level of flexibility. You will work on-site, and may chose from two sites available, Port Adelaide or Port Augusta. Remuneration guide is $90K - 120K + Super but flexible for the right experience.
About You
- An experienced Work, Health & Safety Coordinator, ideally from warehousing or construction
- You are personally driven to keep people safe and well in the workplace
- You are a great communicator and can work effectively with all people such as Warehouse Staff, Drivers, Load Operators, Office Administrators and Executive
- You are experienced in representing a company professionally, for external WHS related meetings or site tours
- You keep up to date with compliance and WHS legislation and trends and love to implement tools that enhance tracking, communication, and overall successful outcomes
- You have relevant Tertiary Qualifications and advanced computer skills
- You have an unrestricted Drivers’ Licence, Police Clearance and Pre-Employment Medical Clearance as required
- Ideally DPTI Registration (Construction) but not essential
