Job Title Finance Business Partner Job Description An excellent opportunity is available for a Finance Business Partner to join the Finance Department at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute. About the Position The purpose of the Finance Business Partner role is to help research stakeholders, drive efficient and effective use of their resources to achieve their research and strategic objectives, whilst maintaining their ongoing sustainability Reporting to the Manager, Finance Business Partnering (MFBP), the Finance Business Partner will be the primary contact for a portfolio of stakeholders (including division coordinators, laboratory heads, division heads and the Research Grants office) for the delivery of finance services and advice. The Finance Business Partner will provide excellent finance services and advice in line with agreed service levels to those internal customers throughout the financial life cycle of budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, performance analysis & investigation, both for labs and divisions as a whole, but also in relation to individual grants awarded. The Finance Business partner will utilise innovative tools and analytical techniques to undertake value-added business analysis that support grants applications, costs management and investment decisions. The Finance Business Partner will deliver customer-centric services in line with agreed service levels, which meet the needs of the lab and division heads and their scientific coordinators, while complying with the Institute’s finance policies and processes. The Finance Business Partner will adapt continuous improvement methodologies to ensure services and processes used to deliver those services are efficient and effective. The development of strong relationships within the institute is fundamental to success in the role and the capacity to deliver valued professional advice. The position will answer queries and action requests on a timely basis, provide grant reports and related information to internal staff, work collaboratively with fellow finance members and work closely with the Research Grants Office to understand and manage the financial aspects of grants within the portfolio. They work to improve the knowledge and engagement of researchers in finance matters. - Substantial experience in finance or professional services including business partnering experience. Preferably in project based businesses (e.g. research/higher ed, engineering, professional services).
- Proven success in preparing clear, concise outputs from detailed financial analysis, optimising available tools and information.
- Significant experience in data visualisation to enable informed decision-making.
