About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Control Officer to join our JORN program based at DSTG Adelaide, South Australia reporting to the Technical Services manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
The Maintenance Control Officer (MCO) in conjunction with the Sustainment Planning Lead is responsible for planning and controlling all maintenance activities and associated support equipment within the Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Network (JORN) environment.
They shall plan, control and report upon maintenance activities to ensure the use of correct approved work instructions, drawings and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing duties pertaining to maintenance as defined in the JORN Maintenance Management Plan (MMP)
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to effectively plan and manage the maintenance, repair and modification of designated radar systems
- Generating monthly work orders for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for the Radar Systems, overseeing the work order generation by the HFS-SPO (BAES) Admin team for the BSC and S&T groups
- Facilitating Maintenance Interval Extension Requests (MIER), Non-Compliance Reports (NCR) and Cannibalisation requirements, registration and tracking to completion
- Liaise with the BSC and S&T Maintenance Leads Sub-Contractor work at BSC and remote S&T sites has been completed (preventative and unscheduled maintenance including completion of all supporting documentation)
- Liaise with the HFS-SPO (BAES) Admin team to ensure the timely completion of work confirmation approvals for remote S&T contractors
- Monitor and report on the status of all outstanding JORN preventative and corrective maintenance tasks
- Update data and information in relevant Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) and analyse reports
- Update MMS Preventative Maintenance and Job Plan’s with engineering approved information IAW the JORN Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP)
- Update the JORN TMP with authorised engineering approved information
- Provide JORN maintenance policy guidance to Sustainment Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, SHE and Quality teams
About YOU
- Knowledge, ability and experience in the maintenance and repair of facilities and plant such as power generators, building air-conditioning, refrigeration, fire, water and sewerage systems
- Ability to analyse and interpret reports and maintenance information
- Intermediate skills and experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages and applications
- Ability to research and interpret relevant legislative and regulatory standards
- Experience in user support, troubleshooting system issues, managing master data, configuring workflows and security settings, developing reports, integrating systems, and supporting Maximo (MMS) functionalities including data management and customisations
- Demonstrated and clear understanding of WHS and security responsibilities and application
- Knowledge of maintenance planning and tracking of scheduled work programs within a quality system
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a NV1 Clearance
