This iconic venue is located in the heart of Victoria’s picturesque Macedon Ranges and the hotel attracts locals and visitors alike with its delicious pub-style meals, excellent service, and lively community feel. THE ROLE: We are seeking a passionate Chef to join the team and play a pivotal role in revitalising this iconic venue. This is a hands-on position with minimal administration but plenty of creativity. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of 3 full-time kitchen staff to deliver exceptional results.
- Planning and executing weekly food specials to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- Managing the rostering, costing, ordering and portion control.
- Oversee and actively participate in meal preparation.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients are used.
- Adhere to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
This role demands leadership, organisational excellence and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment whilst maintain a passion for delivering innovative and exceptional cuisine. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) experience as a Chef in high volume kitchens.
- Strong understanding of costing, portioning and kitchen management.
- Knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining high standards.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A great work ethic and a drive to make a lasting impact.
- You must have full Australian working rights to be eligible for consideration.
WHAT IS ON OFFER:
- 38 hours per week with flexible hours based on functions and bookings.
- A competitive salary of $78,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum.
