Description:
COOK required for a well-established Australian business “YEA PEPPERCORN HOTEL” located at 21 Station Street, Yea VIC 3717. Prospective applicants must have good prior experience of working commercially as a COOK in an Indian cuisine. Duties include.
- Preparing various Indian food items from the restaurant’s menu that includes vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and seafood dishes.
- Undertake pre-cooking preparations such as washing, trimming, carving, chopping, peeling, cutting, stirring, mixing, mincing, grilling, and boiling foods such as various meats, seafood, vegetables, and fruits.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients as per restaurant’s food recipes or personal judgment.
- Prepare food according to cultural and dietary needs of the customers.
- Portioning the food & seasoning of food using various spices.
- Assist chef/head chef in estimating food & labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Discussing food preparation issues with chef/head chef/manager and other kitchen staff.
- Examining of food by tasting it.
- Ensuring the food is of high quality and well presented.
- Handling and labelling stored goods
- Controlling and regulating oven temperature
- Showing good organisation in his workload, prioritizing tasks.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the food service area.
- Follow workplace health & safety procedures.
In Return for your commitment and skills, you will receive a competitive salary package ($70,000 - $80,000 plus Super) and receive ongoing training with the opportunity to develop your skills. Applicants with good practical experience of 5 years & above in Indian cooking will be prioritised. Position is available full time, 38 hours/week but applicant must be available for 7 days/week and willing to work odd hours (Weekend, late shifts & public holidays).
