  • Newly created fixed-term opportunity until January 2026
  • Don't just work for the city; you'll co-create it!

Are you a highly organised, proactive go-getter who thrives in a dynamic environment? Do you love streamlining processes, keeping everything running smoothly, and ensuring teams stay on top of their game? If so, we want you on our team!

As a member of our team, you won't just work for the city; you’ll co-create it.

Here, your ideas and efforts directly shape the places where you and your community live, work, and play.

Through your work, you’ll have a behind the scenes pass to Newcastle's evolution as you shape our future as a liveable, inclusive city.

And we’ll be there for you in important times in your life. We embrace flexible work arrangements to find a balance that allows us to enjoy the city we shape. We will let you decide how you want to work and when across the week.

Whether you want to work 2 full days or school hours between Tuesday-Thursday, we will let you design this to ensure you're there for the moments that matter most to you in your personal life.

This newly created fixed-term contract opportunity until January 2026 will see you play a vital role in keeping our Legal & Governance (L&G) team running efficiently.

You'll be the driving force behind our administrative systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll take charge of filing, invoicing, and maintaining the teams diary while keeping a close eye on goals and performance to support continuous improvement. From assisting with meeting administration to ensuring key communications are clear and effective, you'll play a central role in keeping the team aligned and informed.

You'll also stay up to date with IT systems, helping to maximise productivity and streamline processes. Confidentiality will be key, as you'll handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Your role will extend to promoting governance education, coordinating important documents, and providing essential support for projects. And of course, you’ll be an active participant in team meetings, bringing fresh ideas and a positive, can-do attitude to every challenge.
