- Bundaberg/Burnett Mary Region
Centre for Applied Climate Sciences
Australia's climate experiences high variability and extreme events and UniSQ's Centre for Applied Climate Sciences (CACS) team is working with the grazing industry to better manage climate risks.
Through the Northern Australia Climate Program (NACP), a partnership between the Queensland Government, Meat and Livestock Australia and the University, UniSQ Climate Extension Officers work with local communities to build knowledge and capacity by engaging with pastoralists and industry stakeholders, offering specific climate information and forecasts tailored to the region.
This is a unique opportunity to join the NACP team, working within your local community of Bundaberg/Burnett Mary Region. You will have a strong knowledge of the pastoral industry and a keen interest in climate variability, to lead and influence climate risk management in regional northern Australia.
This is a part-time position with the commitment of 1 day (7.2 hrs) per week. Extensive training will be provided with ongoing mentoring by highly experienced climate risk management researchers and grazing industry extension officers.
