About the opportunity
Position: Clinical Nurse
Vacancy: Permanent Part-time, 45 hours per fortnight
Location: Surgical Outpatients, Townsville University Hospital
What's on offer?
Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $132,289 p.a.
- Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1).
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

About the role
The Clinical Nurse in Surgical Outpatients provides clinical expertise, support, and education to both patients and nursing staff, to ensure the delivery of best practice and quality patient care.
Skills and experience
- Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders.
- Provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting, including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
- Provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
Role requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Previous Surgical experience is a requirement of this role.
