Who you are?
We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Sample Preparation Assistant, who are excited by the challenges of our business and variety this role offers. You will be based at one of our sites in Canning Vale, WA and will be responsible for preparing mining samples for testing, using specialised equipment. Our team offer on-going training to make sure you are confident and comfortable with the Sample Preparation process.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare mining samples for laboratory testing according to strict safety procedures.
- Handling of mining samples – sorting, weighing, crushing, and milling.
- Ensure all samples are handled with accuracy and consistency.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines and laboratory requirements.
- Operating of specialised machine – Robotic Crush Cells, Pulverisers and Robotic Mill Cells.
What will you bring to the role?
- Experience in a physically demanding role, preferably in mining or industrial environments
- Experience in working a rotational shift roster ie: 8 – 12-hour shifts
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, moving, and handling heavy materials ie: 15 kilo sample bags of rocks, sand and other core material
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction precisely
- Ability to demonstrate a high focus on quality and safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
- Can follow set procedures and have a good attention to detail
Bureau Veritas offers two rotating roster options, giving you the flexibility in your work schedule. You can choose between:
Gauge Circuit Site
Operating on a 24/7 rotating roster Monday – Sunday, 12-hour shifts
- Day Shift (6:00AM – 6:00PM)
- Night Shift (6:00PM – 6:00AM)
Sorbonne Crescent Site
Operating on a 24/5 rotating roster Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts
- Day Shift (6:00AM – 2:00PM)
- Afternoon Shift (2:00PM – 10:00PM)
- Night Shift (10:00PM – 6:00AM)
**Roster may change to 12 hours shifts in future to meet business requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- You must have full availability across all shifts
- You must be able to wear all required PPE, including a respirator. To ensure a proper and secure fit, you must remain clean-shaven. This is critical to the role with minimal exposure to hazardous substances which may include silica, asbestos
- You must have working rights in Australia
