The opportunity

Ridgeline Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, Environment and Training Advisor to join a client that is emerging as a leading mining company in Western Australia. This full-time role is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help build the foundations of the health, safety and training practices of the client. This role will be full time, direct to the client.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety and training programs to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Deliver engaging and informative training sessions to employees on a variety of health and safety topics
  • Facilitate incident investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Review and amend SWP's as necessary
  • Collaborate with team members to foster a strong safety culture and promote a proactive approach to health and safety
  • Maintain detailed records and generate reports to track the organisation's health and safety performance and present to corporate
  • Implement the Fitness For Work policy for the site
  • Facilitate site inductions, training requirements and record keeping as necessary

What we're looking for

  • Substantial experience (5+ years) in a similar health, safety and training advisory role, preferably within the Mining, Resources & Energy industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
  • Proficient in the use of relevant health and safety software and data management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive health, safety and training programs

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (Essential)
  • Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in health and safety-related discipline (Essential)
  • Current and valid Australian driver's licence (Essential)
  • Investigation qualifications and experience – ICAM (Essential)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Auditing qualifications are highly desirable
