About the role:
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Operations Lead is responsible for developing a range of operational and strategic activities that apply to the WHS function. This Lead provides strategic leadership to the WHS Operations Team to ensure that the operational requirements of the WHS Unit operate effectively and are fit for purpose.
The WHS Operations Lead provides expert WHS advice and support to both corporate and operational sites, leadership, executive and other stakeholders. Managing the administrative support provided to the functional Units within the WHS Unit and provides expert subject matter advice to other WHS functions.
Leads, designs, implements and monitors complex WHS systems to ensure data is captured in a timely and meaningful way to ensure trends and emerging matters can be identified. The WHS Operations Lead ensures appropriate financial monitoring and reporting processes are in place to assist with budgeting and financial modelling.
The Lead is responsible for ensuring processes are in place to adequately monitor and manage incidents in the department’s incident reporting system.
Qualifications:
Essential: Nil.
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in WHS, Risk Management, Management.
Special conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:
ASO8 $121,107 - 125,679 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
