Casual Lecturer (ICT – UTAS Sydney)

In partnership with the Education Centre of Australia (ECA), the University of Tasmania (UTAS) is opening a brand-new study centre in Ultimo, Sydney in 2025. The inaugural suite of offerings includes AACSB-accredited business courses as well as ACS-accredited ICT courses. The portfolio will continue to grow in the coming years.
We are seeking to appoint a number of casual Lecturers who will be responsible for delivering the following undergraduate and postgraduate ICT units:
- Programming Fundamentals
- Computational Science
- Data Networks and Security
- Database Fundamentals
- ICT Systems Administration Fundamentals
- Web Development

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver weekly classes/workshops in an engaging manner and at a required standard
- Conduct student consultation and academic counselling for students who require additional support
- Assess and provide detailed feedback on student assessments
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all stakeholders to ensure that academic delivery requirements are resourced and met
- Advise the Academic Director on the continuous improvement of delivery, student experience and campus operations
- Implement early intervention strategies in collaboration with Learning Support Coordinators for students-at-risk and monitor their progress according to UTAS’ Policies and Procedures
- Maintain currency in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and that of the incumbent’s discipline by undertaking scholarly work and professional development
As the successful candidate, you will ideally have:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in higher education teaching
- Demonstrated track record in supporting the success of international students
- Knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students
Desirable:
- Graduate Certificate or above in learning and teaching or tertiary education
- Experience with third-party course delivery
- Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
