About the team
Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) is the Area Mental Health Service responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South-eastern area of Melbourne.
The newly integrated Adult and Older Adult Department combines the strengths of AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, person-centred support to adults and older adults through an expansive range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.
As part of our commitment to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we’re expanding our offerings to ensure clients benefit from specialist expertise alongside access to innovative, broad-spectrum care options. This includes specialised pathways for substance use disorders, rehabilitation and recovery, physical and mental health integration, and trauma-focused services.
Our department focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation services , designed to support individuals through every stage of their recovery journey.

What you’ll be doing
You will join a team of 3 other Senior Clinicians and a Senior Mental Health Support Worker who work together to provide the AMAH Adult service with a single point of entry for consumers between the age of 25 – 65.
You will be assessing referrals and will assist with short-term support, consultations and liaison with the community. Your team is responsible for providing face to face one off assessments as well as secondary consultation and education to primary health providers. The team assists with internal referrals and the movement of consumers throughout the community program.
About you
Approved tertiary qualifications and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board / Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA, or eligible with AASW - preferably with mental health endorsements or equivalent
Significant full-time clinical experience and post graduate qualifications desirable, including demonstrated interest in continual learning opportunities.
Substantial experience in a mental health-based context, preferably in community settings.
A current driver’s licence is required to undertake this role
