  • Based at our Adult & Mother Baby Withdrawal Facility in Ivanhoe

Your new role

As an AOD Support Worker, you will actively support clients to achieve their individual treatment plans including drug withdrawal, in conjunction with the Registered Nurse at Curran Place, a 16 bed Adult and Mother Baby Withdrawal facility. You will be required to work a full rotating roster, including night shifts.

As a key member of the team, you will:

  • Supervise and provide assistance with daily living activities
  • Facilitate and encourage client participation in program activities
  • Provide high quality engagement, assessment, treatment and support services to clients
  • Demonstrate high level team behaviours, communication skills and outstanding conduct

Your skills and experience

You will bring with you:

  • A tertiary qualification in a health/welfare related discipline such as social work, psychology or health science
  • A Certificate IV in AOD or completion of the AOD Core Competencies (or willingness to complete within first 24 months of employment)
  • Previous experience working with people with AOD and/or Mental Health issues
  • Knowledge of screening, assessment and community-based treatment for clients with AOD and mental health issues
  • Experience in developing individual treatment plans, post withdrawal and discharge planning
