• Salary Range : Dependent on experience, range from $41.69 – $44.20 per hour

The Bridge is a progressive not-for-profit organisation delivering services to people with disability, and from disadvantaged backgrounds, throughout the south-eastern and northern Melbourne community. About You:

We are seeking a enthusiastic individual who is excited to support the growth of our Volunteer and Student Pathways, facilitating future opportunities to work with The Bridge. You are an effective communicator able to build strong working relationships with our Service Leaders, understanding our services and how Volunteers & Students support our Mission, Vision & Purpose. You will possess fantastic organisational skills which enable you to manage the high numbers of Volunteer/Student queries and placement allocations. We are seeking a candidate with a creative, strategic and collaborative approach, as we are keen to partner with external stakeholders to further develop our offerings. You are passionate about the sector and have experience in the coordination of Volunteer/Student related events.

The main elements of this role include:

  • Working with key internal stakeholders to understand the requirements and capacity for Volunteers and Students. You will need to understand our services and develop a schedule to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Onboarding and Induction of Volunteers and Students, adhering to relevant industry standards and guidelines. You will be the ‘go-to’ for all of our Volunteers and Students so it is imperative you can build strong relationships, support their development and growth, and facilitate pathways to employment (where appropriate).
  • Partner with key external stakeholders to further develop our Volunteer and Student opportunities, events, visibility, and promote the wonderful work we do in our community.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development Partner & People, Culture & Quality (PCQ) team to ensure the service we provide is underpinned by strategic intention. We are eager to grow Volunteer and Student Pathways (whether to employment, further study, service opportunities, etc) and you will be integral in this development journey.

To be successful in doing so, we are seeking:

  • Experience in working with Volunteers and Students and running/managing a Volunteer program or facilitating Student Placements.
  • A formal qualification in disability, health or community services or equivalent experience relevant to the field (desirable, not essential).
  • Sound IT skills in the use of the MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage a diverse team.
  • Ability to keep up to date on best practice in Disability service delivery, quality improvement and the capability to support people with diverse needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and choices.
  • A strong focus on building solid partnerships with the local community.
  • A current and valid Victorian Driver’s License (some travel to our other sites may be required)
  • Current (or willingness to obtain) NDIS Workers Screening Check, NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate, Working with Children Check.
