The Role:
Bungree Aboriginal Association is an Aboriginal Community based organisation which provides a wide range of services to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. As the largest Aboriginal not for profit organisation on the Central Coast, Bungree is a multi-service organisation delivering programs and services to the Central Coast, as well as parts of Newcastle and the Upper Hunter in New South Wales.
The FDR is a program that commenced in 2023 to establish culturally safe and appropriate family dispute resolution for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, with the aim of resolving family law disputes out of court. The FDR program provides families continuous multi-faceted and individually tailored casework and assistance services. The FDR program will be undertaken in a confidential, ethical, collaborative, transparent, respectful and culturally responsive manner and always prioritises children’s safety, welfare and wellbeing.
The Opportunity:Reporting to the Team Leader, the Intake Administration Officer role is a pivotal position in the program as you will:
- Be first point of contact either face to face, over phone, or online with customers or potential customers of the FDR service and provide information as required
- Conduct initial intake appointments with participants and accurately record intake data and information
- Schedule participant appointment/s
- Assist with reception and office duties such as answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and greeting/meeting site visitors, and assisting with general office management and duties as required.
This role can be based out of either Gosford or Cessnock; however the successful applicant will be willing to travel to both offices as required.
Eligibility Requirements:- Qualifications in relevant discipline: Minimum Cert III Community Services, or related field
- Confirmation of Aboriginality (Aboriginal Designated position under section 14 of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act 1977)
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
- Conduct and attitude with be aligned with Bungree values of Respect, Trust, Leadership, Excellence.
- Flu Vaccination – Bungree is a mandatory FLU Vaccination workplace (if for medical reasons you cannot get the flu vaccination, please provide evidence)
- COVID-19 Vaccinations (minimum 2 doses) – Bungree is a mandatory COVID-19 workplace (if for medical reasons you cannot get the Covid vaccination please provide evidence)
- National Police Check (willing to obtain)
- NSW Working with Children’s Check clearance
- Valid First Aid Certificate (willing to obtain)
