Your Key Accountabilities:

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Assist in the design, development and installation of ancillary equipment and systems for operational police vehicles in accordance with relevant Australian Design Rules.
  • Prepare, and interpret technical drawings, schematics and vehicle manuals to ensure compliance in accordance with Australian Design Rules.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs, including the refurbishment of parts, accessories, and related equipment, ensuring readiness for installation in QPS vehicles. Use electronic diagnostic tools in both workshop and field settings to identify and resolve issues.
  • Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment and competently and safely use hand and special tools and electronic diagnostic equipment, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Completion of accurate and timely verbal and written communication as required - examples include, but are not limited to, job sheets, work orders, service reporting and recording and processing maintenance information.

Role Requirements:

Mandatory

  • Possession of a current Queensland driver's license Class C or equivalent license.

Qualification

  • While not mandatory possession of trade certificate qualifications as a Tradesperson (Automotive Electrician) will be highly regarded.

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience

  • Qualifications, skills and knowledge deemed to be equivalent, together with demonstrated experience in automotive electrical, automotive accessory fitting and/or automotive trades environment.

Other

  • 9-day fortnight working pattern. Uniforms are provided. The successful applicant will be located at 20 Pickering Street, Alderley.
