Are you passionate about providing compassionate care and making a positive impact on the lives of older adults, frail individuals, or those with disabilities? We’re looking for a dedicated Direct Care Worker (Community) to join our team and support individuals who wish to remain living independently in their own homes. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide essential services to those who need it most.

About the Role:

As a Direct Care Worker (Community) , you will assist in delivering direct client services to individuals who are aged, frail, or disabled, helping them live independently with the support they need. You will work closely with a variety of community health professionals as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to ensure that clients receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs.

You will be accountable to the Supervisor/Manager, and your role will include offering hands-on support to clients in their home environment, helping them with activities of daily living, and ensuring they maintain their independence and quality of life. This is your chance to make a lasting impact on the well-being of clients and contribute to the continued success of the community health services provided.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Completed AQF Certificate III relevant to the position.
  • Proven experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day to day execution of a position.
  • Experience in the provision of a direct care service in a health related field.
  • Experience in dealing with aged, frail or disabled persons.
  • Experience in the use of computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements:

  • DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • DHS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check
  • National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
  • Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
