Caritas Australia and the Archdiocese of Brisbane are seeking a passionate person to join the Caritas network of Diocesan Directors who make real the vision of Caritas Australia at the local archdiocesan level.

More about the role
This paid role, appointed by Caritas Australia in conjunction with the Archbishop, promotes the work of Caritas Australia within the archdiocese through education, fundraising, advocacy and relationships with Catholic schools, parishes and the wider Catholic community.
This is a flexible role averaging up to 11-15 hours per week across the year, with more hours required during our Project Compassion appeal (February-May).
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Promoting the mission of Caritas Australia across your diocese by building relationships with individuals, clergy, diocesan agencies, volunteers, parishes and schools with the support of, and in partnership with, the Community Partnerships Team.
- Communicating and promoting the work and mission of Caritas Australia to every Catholic parish and school, including fundraising campaigns, Catholic Earthcare (including building the network), emergency appeals, advocacy campaigns and initiatives such as Global Gifts.
- Developing a network of parish representatives/volunteers to extend the reach of Caritas Australia across the diocese.
- Representing Caritas Australia at diocesan events, visiting schools and parishes and organising events such as the Project Compassion launch.
- Tracking engagement, reporting and updating key school, parish and diocesan contacts.
- Collaborating with the Community Fundraising Team and Supporter Experience Team to coordinate donations, follow-up and thank schools, parishes and organisations for their support.
About you
For this role, we are seeking an energetic individual with a mix of the following skills and experience:
- A strong commitment to the mission of Caritas Australia, the ethos of the Catholic Church and Catholic Social Teaching
- A desire to represent Caritas Australia in the Archdiocese with flexible work hours depending on the project
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A preparedness to work collaboratively with Archdiocesan authorities and other agencies, parishes, schools and the wider community
