About the role:
The primary responsibility of the Deputy Safety and Compliance Manager is to ensure the effective safety, security, quality, and hazard and risk management systems are maintained within Airnorth.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist with oversight of safety, quality, security, occupational health and safety and environment policy and procedures.
- Preparing and conducting internal and external audits in accordance with the audit schedule.
- Conduct independent review of Change Management processes.
- Manage and liaise with external auditors including regulators and external clients in the management of external audits.
- Provide timely advice and assistance on safety matters to managers, staff, and contractors at all levels.
- Monitor civil aviation regulatory changes to identify effects on the organisation and instigate any required changes.
- Maintain appropriate systems and manuals.
- Maintain the company’s Emergency Response Plan
- Promote general safety awareness and the development of a healthy safety culture within the company.
- As the Alternate Security Contact Officer provide direction and advice to staff and management on security issues affecting Airnorth companywide operations.
- Ensure compliance with the Transport Security Program.
- Liaise with Government Agencies and Airports in the achievement of security outcomes.
- Controlling, issuing, verification and revocation of Certification Authorisations.
- Notifying CASA of any significant and non-significant changes to the organisation and Exposition IAW MOS regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring that organisations on the Approved Supplier List are appropriately assessed and audited.
We are looking for someone who possesses the following but not limited to:
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in safety and quality management system activities including audits.
- Formal qualification in Safety or Quality Management of at least lead auditor level or equivalent.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of Quality and Safety Management principles.
- Broad experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering, flight operations or equivalent.
- Formal investigation qualifications.
- Excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Ability to hold Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Ability to travel at short notice.
- Ability to hold passport and Australian Drivers licence.
