Deputy Estimating & Pricing Manager

The Opportunity
The role is responsible for managing the estimating and pricing efforts on high value, complex Defence and Commercial maritime projects. In support of the Estimating and Pricing Manager, you will ensure that our team delivers timely and accurate project estimates to support Sales & Business Development activities. You will build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, lead the estimating team in generating competitive pricing for projects valued at upwards of $1B AUD, and monitor project financial performance while continuously improving our estimating and pricing processes.

You’ll need
Essential
- Experience as an estimator, accountant, or similar role with strong financial acumen.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.
- Background in marine, resources, construction, or other relevant sectors.
- Ability to integrate technical, commercial, and financial aspects into project estimates.
- A conscientious approach with a strong sense of ownership and a track record of building effective team relationships.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field are preferred.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to integrity, prioritising compliance with all relevant regulations in defence, commercial markets, and technology development.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a high value, complex project environment.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and cost control measures.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to support business development activities.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines while maintaining a focus on both market sectors and technology advancements.
- Government contract experience
- Experience in or good understanding of the Defence sector
- Experience with Costfact estimating software
