Job Description
We are seeking a skilled OCE Supervisor to join our high performing mining team at a leading open cut coal mining operation. As a senior member of our mining operations reporting directly to the Production Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our teams within a challenging mining environment.
You will inspire your colleagues, influence stakeholders, challenge conventional practices, and drive meaningful change. Your leadership will foster a culture of collaboration, enjoyment, effective communication, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, overseeing daily operations, and managing site inspections to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE:

Conduct statutory inspections and ensure compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and Regulations.

Supervise drilling, blasting, and production activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Identify and manage hazards, implementing risk controls as required.

Provide leadership and guidance to crews, ensuring best practices in safety and operational performance.

Report incidents, hazards, and compliance issues promptly.

Work closely with engineers, shotfirers, and site management to optimise mining processes.
ABOUT YOU:
-
Highly experienced Mining Supervisor with a passion for driving performance through effective leadership

Queensland Open Cut Examiner (OCE) Certificate and current practicing certificate.

Extensive production experience in coal mining operations.

Experience in a complex mining situation such as steep dipping seems and underground workings.

Strong understanding of mining safety regulations and best practices.

Leadership and problem solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to build and foster strong working relationships with your team and across all departments.

Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical (or ability to obtain).
