THE ROLEReporting to the Lead Investigation Officer, the Senior Investigation Officer will effectively oversee and investigate complaints and notifications of varying complexity about Victorian disability workers in accordance with the Disability Service Safeguards Act 2018 (Vic) (the Act). This position will support the Lead Investigation Officer in the end-to-end oversight of the complaint and investigation process and provide resolution recommendations to the Victorian Disability Worker Commissioner (the Commissioner) and the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria (the Board) to support the execution of their legislated functions and powers.
The Senior Investigation Officer is expected to provide support and guidance to other team members and support in the training and development of staff.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

* Undertake and manage impartial and timely investigations throughout Victoria arising from complaints made about Victorian disability workers and students, in accordance with the Act.
* Use authorised officer powers to request information, interview parties to complaints and inspect premises in accordance with the Commission's guiding principles and the Act.
* Act as the key liaison point with external stakeholders (witnesses and third parties etc.) during an investigation and maintain professional and appropriate relationships consistent with the objectives of the investigative process.
