Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in Defence projects? This is a great opportunity to join a leading D&C civil company, working on high-profile Defence infrastructure projects across Australia.
About the Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the efficient and profitable management of estimating activities, with a strong focus on Defence projects. You will oversee the preparation of accurate cost estimates, coordinate tender processes, and ensure seamless administration within the Estimating department. Working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will play a key role in securing and delivering successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end estimating process for Defence infrastructure projects.
• Review tender documentation and assess key project requirements.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities.
• Attend site inspections and evaluate project conditions.
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Develop detailed construction methodologies and staging plans.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving strategies.
• Prepare and participate in tender reviews with key stakeholders.
• Maintain estimating records, document control, and tender administration.
• Work collaboratively with Pre-Contracts and Defence teams to enhance submission quality.

About You:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the Defence sector.
• Strong understanding of Defence infrastructure project requirements.
• NV1 security clearance
• Expertise in cost estimation, tendering, and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in estimating software and quantity take-off processes.
• Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
