Position Overview:
A Data Modeller (DM) is required to join the Education Queensland Insights Platform (EQIP) Program to design and develop definitions of Data Assets for the organisation.
Tasks and Activities:
- Consult with stakeholders and analyse data schemas to establish the definitions of Data Assets
- Transform business requirements and data schemas into reporting and analytics Data Assets, ensuring alignment to departmental logical models and information models
- Document data elements and synonyms, lineage, quality rules and business rules and maintain Data Dictionary and Meta Data libraries
- Assist in defining and then be responsible for maintaining data modelling and design standards
- Reverse engineer physical data models and transform them into target models using architecture principles
- Represent data as conceptual, logical and physical models and define relationships using contemporary tools
- Demonstrated experience working as a Data Modeler and Data Analyst/Engineer on large Data & Analytics Platforms
- Demonstrated experience operating within large and complex ICT programs of work
- Strong understanding of contemporary data & business intelligence technologies and approaches
- Strong understanding of enterprise-level data governance/management and its application
- Ability to collaborate with business and technical resources to define data definitions, including master data related to master data management requirements
- Strong knowledge of conceptual, logical, and data modelling principles
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience with data modeling software and tools
- Demonstrated experience in working with cloud-based data transformation, DevOps and DevOps pipelines
- High attention to detail and well organised
- Highly developed verbal & written communication skills with business and technical stakeholders
