Description:
The Engineering Technologist is responsible for providing technical eningeering support i.e. System Installation & Configuration, Troubleshooting.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
System Installation & Configuration : Install, configure, and maintain integrated airport systems (ACUSS, kiosks, ABD units), ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and operational needs.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for self-service systems, collaborating with higher-level technical teams for advanced troubleshooting.
On-site System Maintenance & Repair : Perform hands-on repairs, replace system components, and troubleshoot faults to minimize downtime, ensuring continuous operation of airport technologies.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) : Conduct UAT for self-check-in systems, software upgrades, and configurations, ensuring all systems meet functional and operational specifications.
Cross-functional Collaboration : Coordinate with airline representatives, airport IT teams, and vendors to ensure seamless system integration and provide technical expertise for ongoing improvements.
Mechanical & System Inspections : Inspect and maintain mechanical components, including conveyor belts and ABD units, to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
Training & End-user Support : Provide technical training and support to staff and passengers, ensuring efficient use of self-check-in systems and resolving operational challenges.
System Upgrades & Implementation : Participate in the planning, testing, and implementation of system upgrades, ensuring alignment with airport operational requirements and regulatory standards.
Technology Evolution and Future Development : Contribute to the exploration and implementation of emerging technologies, such as AI and biometrics, to enhance airport self-service systems, ensuring that airport technology remains cutting-edge and meets future operational demands.
