About the Role:

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for the role of Parliament and Cabinet Officer in the Office of the Deputy Premier.

The Parliament and Cabinet Officer works at the core of government decision making by ensuring that relevant portfolio agencies are able to support the Deputy Premier to progress and deliver the South Australian government's agenda.

Accountable to the Office Manager, the Parliament and Cabinet Officer provides a high-level parliamentary liaison, research and administration service, and for coordinating and administering highly sensitive Cabinet, Boards and Committees procedures that support the Minister in parliamentary and legislative processes.

The role is also responsible for managing all Parliament and Cabinet related records within the Ministerial Office. The position provides a high level of support to the Office Manager for the efficient and effective operational management of the Minister’s Office, including coordinating and delivering member appointment requirements, managing information needs, and providing administrative support for relevant FOI requests.

The incumbent demonstrates political awareness in providing support to the Deputy Premier, ministerial staff, and relevant portfolio agencies. The role will also be required to triage and respond to complex enquiries, both written and verbal, attend and participate in meetings with the Deputy Premier, ministerial staff, agency staff and external stakeholders.

Contract: Contract up to 24 April 2026

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
  • Some out of hours work will be required.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain a National Police Clearance (NPC).

Remuneration: ASO5 - $85,790 min - $95,413 max p.a.
