Tasmanian Quality Meats is a family-owned business operating in Northern Tasmania. We have been in the meat processing industry for over 20 years and provide our award-winning products to local Australian suppliers and overseas markets. We are nationally recognised as the leading provider of top-quality Tasmanian lamb products.

We have a well-established site that has recently undergone multiple expansions and upgrades to become a state-of-the-art processing facility. These new facilities provide our workers with the comfort of developing long-term careers in a great working environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our meat processing establishment in Cressy, Tasmania. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with various HR functions, including recruitment, employee and industrial relations, training and development, return to work programs. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment efforts by posting job openings, screening applicants, and onboarding new employees
  • Coordinate employee movements, on and off site.
  • Handle employee and industrial relations issues by providing guidance and support to staff members
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and oversee performance management processes.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Facilitate return to work programs and workers compensation initiatives across the site.
  • Implement HR initiatives that are aligned with business objectives

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum Cert IV in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a human resources role within the manufacturing or production industry

or similar experience.

  • Knowledge of industrial legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements, and exceptional communication abilities.
  • Proven track record of success in handling HR responsibilities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

A pre-employment medical, car drivers licence, and working with vulnerable people check will be required for this role.
