The Organisation:
Established in 1973 to provide high-quality, culturally responsive primary health care services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Perth metropolitan area, Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (DYHS) is committed to improving health outcomes and community well-being. Today it employs over 180 people and is a cornerstone of Aboriginal health in Western Australia, operating multiple clinics and offering a comprehensive range of medical, dental, and community health services, treating around 20,000 people annually.
The Position:
Based in Perth and reporting to the Board, you will be responsible for implementing DYHS’s strategic plan, priorities, and Board directives. Your core duties will include:
Provide proactive hands-on leadership across all aspects of DYHS's operations
Develop and implement strategic and operational plans
Ensure effective risk management and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations
Champion a culture and environment of respect, innovation, productivity, safety, financial performance and corporate governance
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Drive organizational growth and sustainability
About You:
The Board of DYHS is seeking an inspirational Aboriginal leader who possesses:
Relevant tertiary qualifications as well as executive management experience in the health care sector
Demonstrated knowledge of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing
Strong skills in strategic planning, change management, and financial management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to model and uphold principles of cultural safety
Proven track record in corporate and clinical governance
Experience in stakeholder management and relationship building
Commitment to DYHS's mission, objectives, and values
