Bardon State School is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Head of Department - Curriculum, with particular expertise in reading, to lead curriculum development and delivery.Bardon State School is a small school (11 classes), set in expansive, green and leafy grounds. The majority of our students come from high socio-economic backgrounds, with families that are well-educated and hold high expectations for their child's learning and achievement. We deeply value our strong partnerships with parents and are dedicated to maximising each child's potential in a supportive, challenging and community focused environment. Our curriculum and pedagogy balance inquiry-based learning with explicit teaching to cultivate literate, numerate, curious thinkers and innovative problem solvers.

About The Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embedding socially just practices in daily school life.
- Setting high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participating in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Forming partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Being futures oriented and strategic.
- Providing leadership and support to teachers in reading. Experience of Sounds Write and Heggerty would be advantageous, but training will be provided as necessary.
